Πώς πήρατε την απόφαση να ασχοληθείτε με τον κινηματογράφο; Πλάκα πλάκα, κατά λάθος, παρόλο που μου άρεσε πολύ σαν μικρό παιδί πριν χάσω ενδιαφέρον στην εφηβεία. Πάσχω από ΔΕΠΥ, και συνεπώς δυσκολεύτηκα αρκετά στις σπουδές μου· οπότε μετά από δύο χρόνια επιχειρώντας να σπουδάσω (κυρίως) μουσική στο San Francisco State University, αλλά μη μπορώντας να συγκεντρωθώ στα μαθήματα,αποφάσισα (για λόγους που ακόμα μου ξεφεύγουν) να γίνω πυροσβέστης.Άλλαξα λοιπόν σχολή στα 21 μου και πήγα στο City College που είχε το πρόγραμμα πυροσβεστικής. Κλασσικά, όμως, δεν διάβασα σωστά της οδηγίες εγγραφής, και επομένως άργησα να μάθω ότι υπήρχε 6μηνη λίστα αναμονής για την Ακαδημία. Κι έτσι αποφάσισα να πάρω μαθήματα κινηματογράφου ώστε να περάσει η ώρα, κάπως τυχαία,κάπως από νοσταλγία. Και, όπως καταλάβατε, δεν γύρισα στη πυροσβεστική ποτέ!

Η ταινία Take a Trip συνεχίζει την βραβευμένη της διαδρομή έχοντας ταξιδέψει σε περισσότερες από 30 χώρες ,έχοντας κερδίσει 27 βραβεία με 80 επίσημες συμμετοχές .Η ταινία αποτελεί μία αντιρατσιστική ματιά πάνω στην νοοτροπία και στον φασισμό. Η ταινία χρησιμοποιεί έναν συγκρατημένα δραματικό λόγο μέσα από τις επανειλημμένες γεωγραφικές μετατοπίσεις, οι οποίες αποτυπώνουν με ακρίβεια την διάρκεια και την έκταση των ψυχικών ρηγμάτων, χωρίς να υποκύπτουν στον πειρασμό του ταξιδιωτικού ή τοπικού χρώματος. Ομιλεί έτσι αβίαστα με την κρυφή φωνή της πόλης, σε ένα κράμα λυρικής ειλικρίνειας και στοχαστικού ρεμβασμού, που δίνει στον θεατή έναν σαφώς αμεσότερο (και οπωσδήποτε περισσότερο οικείο) τόνο.

The festival turned 11 years old this year. The New Cinema keeps moving forward. Over the course of six days, we watched 100 documentaries, experimental films, feature films, short films, works of video art, and dance videos from 35 different nations. The festival included a strong showing of Greek cinema. The goal of AIDFF has been to promote Greek films while maintaining the festival's global scope ever since its initial year. All films are overseen from their application to the final screening by an international committee made up of a sizable number of cinema specialists. Every movie that enters the competition is a winner.
